An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of part time Clinical Nurse Consultant Diabetes Education.

Grading will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

As part of the Diabetes Education team, you will work within a motivated and dedicated group that provides the support to the organisation over a wide range of Diabetes Education services, including but not limited to inpatients, outpatients and clinic settings. Clients include paediatrics, gestational diabetes and people with type 1/type 2 diabetes in the medical and surgical setting. Experience working with these client groups will be highly valued.

The successful applicant should have a tertiary qualification in Diabetes Education and be credentialed with ADEA.

This diverse portfolio also includes liaison with other health professional at all levels. 

 

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Tertiary qualification in Diabetes Education
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience
  • An ability to initiate and conduct research projects
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Credentialed with ADEA.
  • Experience in clinical teaching and/or qualifications in Training & Assessment
  • Experience in Diabetes Education with a wide range of types of diabetes including Diabetes in Pregnancy, paediatrics and insulin pump therapy would be highly regarded.

 

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
