EMR Subject Matter Expert
Permanent Full Time, up to 80 hours per fortnight
Nurses and Midwives Agreement (ZF4) or Health and Allied Services Agreement (HS4), Classification is dependant on skills and experience
We are looking for an experienced EMR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in the optimisation and ongoing support of our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used at the health services within the Gippsland Local Health Service Network. This role will act as the critical link between clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders internally at West Gippsland Healthcare Group, and externally with Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA), vendor (Altera), and our Local Health Service Network Partners to ensure the EMR changes are clinically safe, compliant, fit for purpose and standardised across the region to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care. Scoping the development and testing of strategy, governance, and execution across projects and business as usual releases/enhancements for Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) and Opal.
In collaboration with our Local Health Service Networks Partners and Gippsland Health Alliance the role will specifically focus on:
- User Engagement and Issue Identification
- Facilitate the development, scoping requirements and submission for EMR system enhancements
- Lead testing and change coordination and plan implementation of approved enhancements
- Regionalisation of workflows to create streamlined processes through the Gippsland Local Health Service Network
- Assisting with Regional and Departmental clinical application projects where EMR enhancements are in scope

- Significant experience working with Sunrise Clinical Manager Electronic Medical Record system. This experience should include a demonstrated understanding of EMR functionality, user workflows, and the challenges associated with EMR usage
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with clinical, operational, technical, and vendor stakeholders across local and regional teams
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
The following experience / qualifications would be considered advantageous:
• Previous experience with testing and change coordination
