We currently have ongoing hours available in our Medical Ward for suitably qualified Healthcare Worker. Experience in General Medicine and Palliative care an advantage however not necessary. We offer a friendly, team focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and free car parking.
We have part time positions of up to 28 hours per week available. Applicants must be available to work across a variety of shifts including weekends. Casuals are employed on an ‘as needs’ basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Commitment to oversee the processes required for a quality service with a patient centred focus.
- Flexibility and the ability to work all shifts.
- A commitment to a team approach to care delivery.
- Police Check and current working with Children Check (can be organised through WGHG)
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
- Recent experience in a Medical Unit
- Interest in palliative care
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
