We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to be employed on a ongoing part time and/or fixed term or casual basis, delivering therapy programs designed by qualified allied health professionals. Allied Health Assistants at West Gippsland Healthcare Group work across departments including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics and Social Work. The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) has the primary role of delivering individually tailored therapy programs, designed by the Allied Health Professionals, across a range of services. This role may include assisting with group or individual programs for clients attending the Allied Health department and Community Rehabilitation Centre, providing therapy to clients in their homes, aged care facilities or on the inpatient units under the direction of Allied Health Professionals. It may also include providing support and administrative assistance, equipment tracking and cleaning duties, resource preparation, ordering of stock, data collection and entry.

Casuals are employed on an ‘as needs’ basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours. 

Required skills and experience include:

  • Qualification – Cert III or IV Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the provision of AHA services or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity Microsoft Office software.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
