West Gippsland Healthcare Group is looking for Instrument Technicians who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and value precision, safety, and teamwork to join our dynamic and supportive healthcare team committed to providing excellence in patient care.
As a CSSD you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, sterilisation, and availability of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment. You will work closely with theatre staff and other departments to maintain seamless operations and uphold strict compliance with infection control protocols.
Our preferred candidate will have:

Perform cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of reusable medical devices in accordance with AS 5369:2023.

Conduct regular quality assurance checks and maintain accurate documentation.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of reusable medical devices (RMDs).

Demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate the ability to be involved with change management processes and be supportive with the implementation as directed by the CSSD Manager or their delegate.

Demonstrate basic computer skills.

Provide learning and support to junior staff.

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by being willing to participate in relevant courses and/or education sessions.
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:

Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Services (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
-
Ongoing commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.

Ability to collaborate professionally with a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Flexibility to work across the different CSSD work areas.

Ability to work Monday – Friday roster including morning and afternoon shifts.
