West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of the Warragul Linen Service Infrastructure Upgrade Project. This important fixed-term role will support priority asset, equipment and infrastructure works designed to strengthen safe, reliable and sustainable linen service operations for WGHG and major public hospital customers.

The project will focus on implementing Phase 1 infrastructure upgrades across key operational areas including washroom, dryer, mangle, dryfold, facility, security, ventilation and related infrastructure systems. The successful applicant will work closely with Warragul Linen Service leaders, supervisors, maintenance staff, Health and Safety Representatives, procurement, finance, executive sponsors, suppliers and contractors to ensure works are well planned, effectively governed and delivered with minimal disruption to service continuity.

Reporting to the Executive Director Financial Services, the Project Manager will provide practical and structured project leadership across all stages of delivery. The role will develop and maintain project plans, implementation schedules, risk and issue registers, procurement documentation, scope documents, status reports and transition plans to support transparent decision-making and successful implementation.

This is a hands-on project delivery role suited to someone who can balance strong governance and documentation discipline with practical operational engagement in a busy industrial, health service or essential service environment.

Our preferred candidate will have to: 

• Lead the planning, delivery, monitoring and closure of the Warragul Linen Service Phase 1 Infrastructure Upgrade Project.

• Coordinate priority works across equipment, facility, security, ventilation and production infrastructure areas.

• Develop and maintain high-quality project documentation, including plans, schedules, registers, reports, scope documents and governance papers.

• Work with operational leaders to sequence works, minimise disruption to linen production and maintain customer supply continuity.

• Monitor milestones, supplier deliverables, contractor activity, budget impacts, go-live dates and post-implementation requirements.

• Identify, assess and escalate risks relating to service continuity, production capacity, workforce health and safety, contractor activity, procurement and operational downtime.

• Support clear communication with internal stakeholders, approved suppliers, contractors and customer-facing teams where required.

• Contribute to post-implementation review processes, benefits evaluation and lessons learned.

The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous: 

• Formal qualification in project management, business, engineering, operations management, health administration, change management or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a public health, commercial laundry, industrial production, logistics, facilities, procurement or essential services environment.
• Experience supporting equipment replacement, capital works, infrastructure upgrades, digital systems implementation, workflow redesign or operational change projects.
• Knowledge of laundry operations, production environments, asset management, business continuity, quality systems, benefits realisation, procurement processes or change management frameworks.

IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
