West Gippsland Healthcare Group are now accepting applications for our 2027 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program, Midwifery stream.
Our program is based at the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragal) where we offer interesting, challenging and well-supported Graduate Programs in Registered Nursing and Midwifery.
Eligibility
As per PMCV Computer Match guidelines, you must be either:
- A Victorian-trained midwifery graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
- A current Victorian resident – Distance Education Midwifery Graduate
- An Australian Interstate Trained Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
- A New Zealand-trained Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
You must also:
- Be eligible for registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Have not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Graduate Midwifery Program
- Have completed your Midwifery degree by December 2026 academic year.
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare/aged care sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a Police Record Check and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six-month probationary period applies to all new appointments. Further information is contained in the Position Description.

- Resume inclusive of a passport-sized photo and 2 professional Clinical Nursing referees (preferably from mid-second year and third year, as per PMCV referee criteria)
- 3 Clinical Appraisals (preferably most recent, or with a date when you may be able to provide the most recent if you are currently on placement.)
- Up-to-date certified Academic Transcript (Education Certificate)
