Theatre Technician, Grade 1 (IN7) $28.84737 p/h

 

With the exciting expansion of our surgical services we have a wonderful opportunity for someone to join our diverse team of surgeons, anaesthetists and dedicated nurses as a Theatre Technician in Training.

 

This position involves a combination of in house and external training so applicants must be able to commit to the full 12 month period.

 

The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the safe transfer and positioning of patients, cleaning, setting up and the maintenance of equipment. The Theatre Technician in Training will work with other technicians as part of a multidisciplinary perioperative team.

 

The ideal applicant will be someone who has:

  • Enthusiasm and flexibility in their working hours - there are a variety shifts depending on the theatre lists
  • Previous manual handling &/or patient transportation experience - highly desirable
  • Is capable of working in a physically demanding environment
  • Good professional communication skills
  • Previous experience within a hospital or health care setting
  • The ability to work in all areas of the operating room suite and in the specialties offered
  • The knowledge of Infection Control Principles & Occupational Health & Safety requirements
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse team of people
  • Work a rotating roster of morning and afternoon shifts: 0730 to 2100 Monday – Friday

 

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated for Influenza unless a valid exemption applies. Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
