CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.
We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.
CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.
Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department
The Heyfield Hospital (HHI) is a former Bush Nursing Hospital managed by CGHS and includes eight acute/ sub-acute beds, 3 Transitional Care beds as well as a 51 bed aged care facility: Laurina Lodge, an urgent care centre and a co-located private medical clinic.
About the Role
The provision of effective and efficient personal care services to Heyfield Hospital residents which meets the individual needs and preferences whilst upholding and fulfilling the vision, mission and values of Heyfield Hospital. This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system.
The Personal Care Attendant works in a supportive team role with other care staff to provide personal care services at Heyfield Hospital.
Duties
- Work practices to comply with the following requirements Occupational Health and Safety, No Lift Manual Handling, Safe Food Handling and Respect of Resident’s Rights
- Adhere to the requirements for Personal Protective Equipment in the completion of certain tasks
- Ensure that issues and concerns regarding personal care services are reported to the Nurse Unit Manager or Director of Residential Aged Care as soon as they are identified
- Treat residents/tenants with respect and dignity while being aware of their rights and the personal care service responsibilities
- Participation in Heyfield Hospital Aged Care staff meetings where comment relative to departmental issues and functions
