About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

 

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

 

About the Teams

The Dietetic and Speech teams consist of a Manager, Grade 2, Grade 1 clinicians and Allied Health Assistants.

CGH Allied Health provides a wide range of services, including Early Childhood Intervention, acute inpatients and rehabilitation, Aged Care, NDIS, in addition to home and community care and community health.

 

About the Role

As an Allied Health Assistant for the Dietetic Department you will be involved in supporting the Dietitians to provide nutrition therapy across the inpatient, outpatient and community settings. This may include (not limited to) patient contact on the wards, administration support such as scheduling and coordinating appointments, participating in group therapy with cooking components and elements of project work. 

As an Allied Health Assistant for the Speech Department you will be delivering clinical programs including therapy and group programs under the guidance of a speech pathologist and also supporting the team with administrative tasks, including, setting up for therapy programs and developing resources. The speech pathology team work with a majority of paediatric clients.  

 

About You

  • Qualified Allied Health Assistant Cert IV (or working towards) or equivalent
  • Victorian Driver's License 
  • Ability to work with, at times, multiple people requesting tasks be completed
  • Solid time management skills
  • Great computer skills – requirement to be able to navigate excel, word, electronic medical records with ease
  • Great communication skills – essential for job sharing role
  • Experience working with children and families (essential for Speech Pathology role)
