About the Department

This role sits within the Community & Allied Health Directorate, which delivers a broad range of community-based health promotion, prevention and early intervention initiatives. The directorate works closely with local partners, education settings, community organisations and internal teams to improve population health outcomes across Wellington Shire.

 About the Role

You will work as part of a job-share arrangement, contributing 0.4 EFT (2 days per week, with days negotiated) to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based health promotion initiatives aligned with Central Gippsland Health’s Health Promotion Plan.

 Working across a range of community and organisational settings, you will support health promotion activity in early years services, schools, community organisations, workplaces and CGH campuses. Flexibility to attend community events, health promotion activities and occasional out-of-hours commitments is valued.

In addition to delivering health promotion activities, you will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Health Promotion Plan, including monitoring progress, reporting on outcomes and supporting grant and funding acquittals. These responsibilities are shared and supported within the job-share arrangement and in collaboration with the Director, Community & Allied Health.

This role is well suited to an experienced health promotion professional seeking a flexible, part-time opportunity while maintaining meaningful involvement in strategic, place-based community health work.

 Key Duties

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate health promotion initiatives aligned with the CGH Annual Health Promotion Action Plan

  • Support settings-based programs such as Smiles 4 Miles, Achievement Program and Vic Kids Eat Well

  • Build and maintain partnerships with community, education and health stakeholders

  • Contribute to reporting, evaluation and funding accountability requirements

Participate in relevant networks, committees and community events


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, health sciences, community development or a related field

  • Experience delivering health promotion or community-based programs

  • Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a job-share arrangement

  • Understanding of population health and place-based approaches
