CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).

 Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.

We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.

CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.

Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

The Engineering Services department provides all essential, preventative and breakdown maintenance across all sites, including Heyfield Hospital, Laurina Lodge and Stretton Park, as well as managing and assisting with multi-disciplinary project works. 

About the Role

As the Manager Engineering Services, you shall provide management, leadership & co-ordination of the Engineering team on behalf of CGHS, encompassing:

  1. Developing and implementing a plan to sustain and develop facilities in collaboration with stakeholders including the GM Engineering;

  2. Team oversight and leadership;
  3. Balance competing priorities and work demands to identify and respond appropriately to critical and urgent business needs

 Duties

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement risk informed site asset management plans and campus asset master plans
  • Oversight multi-campus engineering and maintenance support to ensure optimised outcomes and operational availability.
  • Oversight the facilities management information systems ensuring effective process to support, develop, document, allocate and coordinate the planned preventative and urgent breakdown requirements;
  • Oversight, coordinate and project manage a range of engineering projects focused on CGH built infrastructure including coordination of both inhouse and contractor resources.
  • Advise the executive and the Asset Management Governance Committee on matters requiring attention and decision, includes preparing written reports and briefs;
  • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of engineering strategies, policies and plans;
  • Work with Project Managers, Architects, Engineering Professionals, contractors and other key stakeholders to enable agreed goals to be achieved

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  1. Demonstrated experience and success in managing engineering services, facilities maintenance and projects.
  2. Demonstrated team leadership skills
  3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  4. Current driver license. (Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty)

Desirable:

  • Engineering Degree qualification
  • A relevant trade qualification
  • Obtained or working towards, and/or committed to completing a Diploma of Management
  • Other directly relevant VET or tertiary qualification
